about us
You can hear the influence of musicians such as Jackopierce, James Taylor, Run DMC, Hank Williams Jr., Charlie Robison, Barenaked Ladies and a hundred others mixed and mingled throughout their music. Yes, I just used Hank and Rev Run in the same sentence.
Their style of self-proclaimed “wuss rock” blends folk, country and rock to produce a sound as sweet as cornbread. That’s right, a buttery, sweet starch that crumbles in your ear. What? Basically, the music rocks and transcends many genres.
So now we are present day, and the Treys are currently working on their third studio album. The band’s name is “shadowood” and the album features the veteran producer Don McKinzie of McMix Production Services. The yet to be named album (we could use your help) features songs like “Letters Home” which tells the story of soldier at war writing to his wife and newborn. There is also “Flip Flop Tan” that brings you to a place warm and sandy, the kind where nobody makes fun of you for having an umbrella drink.
Their first two albums were “Too late to turn back now” and “the treehouse incident,” which contain all original songs that show their range and passion for all types of music. Also, they don’t like to capitalize things (hey proper nouns – you can’t control us). “the treehouse incident” is available on iTunes and from their newly released shadowood iPhone App. Yeah, they have their own app.
So whether you check them out live, via iTunes or on their website www.twotreys.com, be sure to say hello and see what “wuss rock” is all about.
